So it is about that time again where I post.
I think I'll make it a weekly event.
Every Monday will be my post day.
Let's see how long this lasts.
I missed class on Friday because I was feeling under the weather. I guess I shouldn't have missed it, but it was a no-brainer for me. One reason was because I was feeling sick, so sick in fact that I threw up and looked miserable for everyone to see, but another fact is that because I was sick I think i also needed a rest from school.
Now, if I wasn't sick I would have gone to class, but because I was and because I was feeling this way I did not go to class.
It might be easier to understand if you were me.
Now, unto an entirely different arena.
The upcoming elections.
These are my personal views and I don't expect anyone to agree with me on anything.
I do however expect a respectful outlook on what I have to say.
First off, I am not voting in these elections, nor have I voted in any of the previous elections, namely, the 2004 elections. Why you ask? I am rather interested in the political process and I do follow the issues and the candidates, but I'd rather not vote then vote for someone that I agree with in part and disagree on other parts. Some people will be up in arms saying, "How could you be so stupid in forgoing your rights in this election. Some people would die for this right." To that I respond, "yes, it is a right to vote, but I would be doing a disservice to this country and to myself by not voting with conviction." I think that with this years election voting for someone as a vote against someone else is not the highest ideal that people fight so hard to protect.
I've been doing some research on what the two candidates stand for and am I very impressed by their websites, but how can I be sure that what they say now and what they do in office is the same. That is another thing on which I cannot get around about American politics. You cannot take either/any candidates on their word because they will go back on it. There isn't one president in the history of presidency of the US that didn't go back on their word. Everyone thinks that if elected McCain will do so, but I believe Obama will do the same. There is a certain rhetoric that both parties use to get elected and then when elected follow the plan until their approval rating is through the roof and then when people think they can do no wrong then they go ahead and do something crazy/unexpected.
If either is elected there should not be president bashing from either side.
I think that Christians get too involved with that and follow the ways of the world in that they view it as normal and get carried away. Christians, we are judged on a higher set of values than the world. We are the elect. Please do not let yourself be, in this way, influenced by the world. People will want to say that I am wrong and that is there opinion, but here are two verses that we, brothers and sisters, should consider.
1 Peter 2: 13-17 "Submit yourselves for the Lord's sake to every authority instituted among men: whether to the king, as the supreme authority, or to governors, who are sent by Him to punish those who do wrong and to commend those who do right. For it is God's will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men. Live as free men, but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil; live as servants to God. Show respect to everyone: Love the brotherhood of believers, fear God, honor the king.
1 Timothy 2:1-2 "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness."
Maybe if we lived this way all the time and not just during elections we would be a better people, but one can only hope and pray.

If you go by this post, I don't think you'll ever vote because you're always going to disagree on something with any candidate. Just like friends or family.
Vote for Nadar!
